A Native Angelena and former animation artist and producer, Libby Simon

earned a Certificate of Landscape Architecture from UCLA Extension Landscape Architecture Program in 2013. Along with landscape architecture and design, Libby's interests are in the historic preservation of cultural landscapes.

"Art and design, landscapes and the love of plants, have always been strong elements in my life, as family professions. Growing up in Culver City, with my father and uncle's summer projects of landscaping homes to resell, orphan plants lined the home driveway. As a youngster, many days were spent running through wet gravel paths of plants nurseries with my sisters in tow."

"I enjoy blending the textures of plant materials, with materials that might be found on a site. Our rich Southern California plant palette with its color, texture and shape, is a great gift from nature. Every time I approach a new garden, I'm grateful for this gift."
